MOLDOVA - MOLDOVA BIBLE SEMINARY

The Moldova Bible Seminary equips young men and women for the ministry of spreading the gospel in Moldova.  Moldova is located in Eastern Europe, northeast of Romania, and is slightly larger than the state of Maryland.  Formerly ruled by Romania, Moldova became part of the Soviet Union at the close of World War II.  When Moldova became independent from the USSR in 1991, it opened the doors of opportunity for Christian missionaries to enter in with the gospel.

Pastor Jim Davis began his ministry to Moldova in 1997 while pastoring at Faith Bible Church in Spring, Texas.  He was asked by Ron Helton of Kishinev Bible Church to come to Moldova to teach Bible study methods and theology classes.  Traveling twice a year, Pastor Davis served as Adjunct Professor for 8 years.

Even though Moldova is on the other side of the world, many of the students speak English.  The seminary schedule is strenuous, and conditions are less than adequate.  Students face cold seminary buildings, and return in the evenings to unheated homes.

Although Moldova Bible Seminary is small, there is an incredible desire in these young students for God's Word. Numerous former students have gone on to become pastors, plant new churches, write Bible curriculum, teach in Christian schools, and teach leadership training classes for nationals.

During his visits to Moldova, Pastor Davis witnessed the expansion of his students' ministry from the capitol city of Chisinau to the surrounding villages.  On several occasions, Pastor Davis' wife, Lori, was able to accompany him on his trips.  Together they have been blessed with many ministry opportunities, and have made many new and lasting friendships with their brothers and sisters in Christ in Moldova.
