Journey 24/7

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Galatians 2:20-21

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.

JOURNEY 24/7

NOTICE:  JOURNEY 24/7 begins September 7th at 6:45 p.m.

Our High School AWANA club is called Journey 24/7 and meets on Wednesdays, 6:45 - 9:00 p.m. from September through May.

During that time, the clubbers say verses, sing, play games such as volleyball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and do a Bible study.  The evening ends with a prayer time, usually boys and girls separate.

The requirements for finishing all the work for a year are:

  1. Complete two books (1 each semester), answering all questions and saying the verses

  2. Reading about 19 books of the Bible and giving an oral summary of each

  3. Complete three months of service in the Church

  4. Bring a friend

  5. Attend an approved conference

The clubbers go on one or two service or mission-oriented trips each year.  Clubbers have gone to Gospel Lakes twice and participated in the Child Evangelism Fellowship 5-day Clubs.  They have also done work for Camp Wilderness Ridge in Smithville, Texas.

For everyone who completes all the work, there is a tradition of going on a weekend trip in May.  Journey 24/7 clubbers have gone to a dude ranch in Comfort, TX, went to Port Aransas and rented condos on the beach, and other fun activities.

Journey 24/7 clubbers also participate in the AWANA quiz and AWANA games held in February.
